Day 23 - Something you wish you had done in your life.
Well....my life is not over yet. So....with that being said. I wish I had completed a college education and secured a degree.
But it is NEVER too late to do such a thing as exampled here.

30 Days of Truth - Day 22
Day 22 - Something you wish you hadn't done in your life.
This makes me think of regret. Regrets about decisions I've made and the consequences were big.
Well....who hasn't done things- that when all is said and done you think to yourself: If I knew then what I know now I would have chosen differently.
I have done that. But I am choosing to keep quiet about those decisions/regrets.
I've been blogging for many years and those who have known me throughout the years over at J-Land and now over here at Blogger know of many events in my life that I fervently wished I had never chosen to do.

30 Days of Truth - Day 21
Day 21 - (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?
This one is a very easy one for me. I high-tail my butt to where my best friend is to make sure she is OK. I lend support to my best friends family.
One argument or fight would not change that we are best friends.

30 Days of Truth - Day 20
Day 20 - Your views on drugs and alcohol.
Sadly, I have knowledge of the abuse of drugs in the family tree. It has ruined many lives.
Drugs have played a part in the fact that kids were raised without a father. But it didn't help that the mother was also abusing drugs. So, the kids saw this and followed in the same footsteps and have become delinquents and are in and out of the prison system.
It was sad to watch. But I kept my distance from it all.
Alcohol. Not something that is abused in our home. It is drank socially and at various functions.
At home we keep an occasional bottle of wine- which a glass or two in the evening is not a bad thing. We also have a small stock of other bottles to mix with cola or mix our own drinks while relaxing after dinner or watching a movie on the big screen TV.
I have seen people get out of hand with alcohol on many different occasions. I even got quite drunk on a few occasions.
But I have a firm opinion on this: NO ONE SHOULD DRIVE WHILE DRUNK OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS.

30 Days of Truth - Day 19
Day 19 - What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?
I don't want to go on and write a mini-novel about religion. But, here goes. I have always believed in God.
After I was born my parents had me Christened in the Catholic Church. I attended church on Sundays....not regularly since my father never went- unless it was a funeral or a wedding- from what I remember. I found that the Catholic Church never fully explained the bible to me. As a young adult- I was 19- I started going to a non-denominational Fellowship church. I learned more about the bible and loved it.
I follow my own faith and beliefs about religion. I try not to force my opinions about my faith and/or religion on others. I believe in prayer and I use it often. I enjoy worshipping on Sundays in a congregation with others. But, I most often enjoy quiet solitude and talking to God on my own.
You have your beliefs and I have mine. Enough said.
***One last opinion I have about religion. I think organizations that set up as a Church- to hide behind the First Amendment to the Constitution is WRONG. IN MY OPINION WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH IS NOT A CHURCH....THEY ARE A CULT. THEY CLAIM TO BE A CHURCH TO HIDE BEHIND THE FIRST AMENDMENT.
(Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Ratified 12/15/1791. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.) ***
Now onto the question of Politics. Politics is a dirty thing in my opinion. I know politics define how our society works, but all the political CRAP that goes on is BS. Is politics a necessary evil in our society? Yes....sadly it is. Everyone in this country has a right to vote. To have the collective voices heard. Most people will not vote unless they feel their voice has not been heard or they feel their personal rights are being squashed.
Don't believe everything you read in the newspapers or hear/see on Television. The stories there are not 100% accurate. Fact find when you can to determine the whole truth for yourselves.
Fact find before you go off on tangents and rage against our government. You want change. Be the change. VOTE.
As Robin Williams said in "Man of The Year" movie: "Politicians are a lot like diapers. They should be changed frequently, and for the same reason."
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE MY OPINIONS. NO BASHING PLEASE. THANK YOU.

A Vent
The end of April will mark 1 year since the injury occurred.
In the span of the past 11 months I went through 6+ months of therapy, steroid cervical epidural injections and traction. I had headaches every day and numbness issues in the left arm and the arm was gradually getting weaker.
In November I had a cervical discectomy/fusion surgery for C5 through T1.
I woke up in post-up/recovery having weakness in the right hand. But the left side felt great. I had to squeeze a sponge ball thingie for a few weeks for the right handed weakness. And I also noticed I was numb on my left side from below my left breast on down to the tips of my toes. So from November til now I have had this problem. AND no brainy answers from the doctors as to why I have this problem. Which is just WONDERFUL!! *just a wee bit of sarcasm there*
All the while I have NO INCOME because I am dealing with a severely FLAWED WC system. The IC can be caught in lie after lie and yet I am denied WC benefits. Our country and judicial processes SUCK A$$. Just my opinion, folks.
So my husband has to deal with losing $1800 a month of our income and work his butt off and get overtime here and there when he can.
I am still being treated for my injury. I have not been released to do any kind of therapy as of yet. The surgeon has to determine if the fusion is indeed starting to fuse.
My left leg won't tolerate standing or walking too much. I am frequently up and down. My left foot feels like it is on fire when I have my sneakers on. I can't feel how hot the water is on the left side when I shower. Cold water or cold hands are painful to the touch on my skin on the left side.

Heck yeah I am grateful that I can walk and talk. But my body is not what it was a year ago. My neck will NEVER be the same. My left side has that lovely numbness issue going on. I can not work in the same capacity as I did. So what the heck am I gonna do?
I have my moments where I just sit here and cry and have a tiny breakdown. I try not to complain of my neck or leg pain to my husband or kids. I feel so guilty....but I know everything that has happened is NOT my fault.
