A Rant........

I have had a terrible time the past 18 months.  In that span of time I was injured on the job. At a company that I was hired to be an Administrative Assistant. It was a very small company.  10 employees.  The boss downsized to 6 when the economy started to tank really bad. I went from Admin. Asst. to Production Floor worker, Shipper/Receiver and pretty much gopher to jump in when jobs had to be completed.

Now mind you....several years before I had gotten out of the health care/patient care industry due to the physical work.  I went into Customer Service / Office work.

While at that job as Admin. Asst. and all the other hats I wore I was injured on the job.  And that began a wild ride on the roller coaster called Workman's Compensation.  It is the crappiest ride out there!!  It's a system where no matter how many times you complain about the brakes failing.....they don't fix the problem.  It's awful!!!  I am still on that wild ride and I want it to stop.  But unfortunately......the coaster is still going uphill.

In the middle of all of that I had a surgery that totally changed me. I went from a person who absolutely hated taking any kind of medication to taking stuff I NEVER wanted to take. Ever. And stuff recommended that I refused to take based on the side effects of the drugs.

I have permanent damage. Irreversible permanent damage.  I am the jigsaw puzzle that was put back together and while I was being put back together they shoved a larger piece into a smaller slot. In doing so, they damaged the edges of the larger piece. But hey.....I signed of on being put back together.

So.....November 15th was the 1 year anniversary date of being put back together. And the 28th officially marks 18 months.

I'm too young to qualify for SSI Disability and I don't want to use that system. I know there is *something* I can do if I can work within my restrictions!!  I firmly believed that and I looked and looked for the past few months. I went on several job interviews.  Which left a bad taste in my mouth.

Finally I looked into legitimate companies where I could work from home. I found several and did my research.  All while I was looking outside the home for a job, I had applied to one to work at home.

I am happy to say that I finally got a job and I am in training.

Wish me luck that I continue to see the light at the end of the tunnel!! Training ends on Wednesday and I have to pass a final test to stay on board or end up getting terminated which would not be good.

So....wishes for luck and a few prayers would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!!
